Description
Connecting two coils in series rather than parallel yields markedly different results. On Teles with 2 pickups, traditional parallel wiring provides relatively consistent output across all three positions. But a Tele with its pickups wired in series produces higher output and a fatter tone. A 4-position switch allows players to have both wiring options available.
Our SS2 and SS3 wiring kits are very similar, the difference is in which switch position yields the series combination. SS2 places the series combination in position 4, the way Fender typically uses this switch.

Players with reverse-wound, reverse-polarity pickups receive the additional benefit of hum-cancellation in positions 2 and 4.
