PLA (Polylactic Acid) 3D printer filament vacuumed sealed with desiccant
Recommended Nozzle Temperature: 190 - 225 C; Filament diameter - 1.75mm
Net weight: 200 grams / Spool Diameter: 6" / Spool Width: 1.5" / Spool Hub Diameter: 2.25"
PLA filament is compatible with various 3D printers such as the Monoprice Maker Select, Lulzbot, Flash Forge, and many more
Color pack contains 4 spools, each spool contains 200g of filament. Colors: Blue, Green, Orange, Red

Description

Gizmo Dorks PLA filament now comes in a smaller version on a 200 gram spool, the perfect size for sampling or testing the superior quality. Gizmo Dorks PLA filament is made from the highest quality virgin material. PLA, Polylactic Acid, is created from processing a number of plant products. PLA can be composted at commercial facilities unlike ABS which is derived from fossil fuels. PLA is a more earth friendly plastic and more rigid than ABS, and in general the printed objects will have a more glossy look and feel compared to ABS. PLA can be sanded and machined. PLA has a lower melting temperature compared to ABS. As a material, PLA has much less warping versus ABS. Additionally, a heated bed is not required to print it. PLA generally enjoys sharper details and corners compared to ABS without the risk of cracking or warping. PLA can also be printed at higher throughput speeds.

  • Extrusion Temperature: 190 - 225 C
  • Heated Bed: Not required but recommended at 60 C
  • Print speeds : 30mm/s is ideal, can go up to 60 or 80mm/s
  • Diameter: 1.75mm +/- 0.03mm
  • Net Weight: 200 grams

Description

Gizmo Dorks
We provide the highest quality 3D printing materials such as ABS, PLA, HIPS, PVA, and more. Our filaments are run with tight tolerances. There are no air bubbles or oily residues. Every filament comes loaded on a durable, hard plastic spool, not a cheap, flimsy cardboard spool.

PLA, Polylactic Acid, is created from processing a number of plant products. PLA can be composted at commercial facilities unlike ABS which is derived from fossil fuels. PLA is a more earth friendly plastic. It is stronger and more rigid than ABS, and in general the printed objects will have a more glossy look and feel compared to ABS. Unlike ABS, PLA can be sanded and machined. PLA has a lower melting temperature compared to ABS. As a material, PLA has much less warping versus ABS. Additionally, a heated bed is not required to print it. PLA generally enjoys sharper details and corners compared to ABS without the risk of cracking or warping. Compatible with RepRap, Makerbot, UP!, Lulzbot, Afinia, Solidoodle, MakerGear, Printrbot LC, and more!

FAQ?
Is the spindle hole large enough to fit my Makerbot printer?
Yes! Our spindle holes are large enough to fit the Makerbot printers. You don't have to worry about fabricating a spindle extension any longer. *NOTE, these spools will not fit inside of the new Makerbot 5th generation printer drawers. You can still use these spools and feed the filament directly through the top of the printer.

What other colors are available?
PLA comes in a variety of different vibrant colors, 40 different options total.
*New fluorescent colors are available. They glow under UV light, commonly known as black light.
*New color changing filaments are available; the filaments will change colors at 31C (88F). The filament is one color below 31C, and when it is heated above 31C, the filament will change to another color.

4. Gizmo Dorks PEI Sheet 12" x 12" (305mm x 305mm) 1mm Thick 3D Printer Build Surface Ultem 1000, Made in The USA

Feature

MADE IN THE USA: Single 1mm thick sheet installs quickly on top of existing flat build platforms (e.g. borosilicate glass)
ABS and PLA filaments (along with many other materials) print directly on to PEI surface without the need for additional adhesives, tapes, or slurry.
REMOVE FILM FROM BOTH SIDES BEFORE USING: Blue protective film guards against scratches during shipping and handling.
Reuse for multiple prints, just wipe down with isopropyl alcohol between prints for best results
Sheet can be easily cut down to desired size by scoring with a utility knife

Description

PEI (Polyetherimide) sheets provide a 3D printing build surface that requires no tape, slurry, or adhesive. ABS and PLA both stick extremely well to the surface, which eliminates the need for support rafts used for better adhesion.

How to Use:

Cut the PEI sheet to size by scoring with a hobby knife. There are two methods to attaching the PEI to your print bed. The first method is to just clamp the sheet to the print bed using binder clips. We find that 2 on each side works great. The second method, get 3M 468MP Transfer Tape and use it to stick the PEI to the print bed.

Once the PEI sheet is attached, re-level your print bed and you are ready to go!

It helps to wipe the surface down with isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, or soap in between prints. This will ensure the PEI is clean, and help adhesion. Light sanding with 5000 grit paper will also give the PEI sheet more life.

ABS, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a favorite filament among 3D printer users because it is light weight and durable. It can be injection molded which makes it perfect for 3D printing extruders. It has a high glass transition temperature to reduce deformation, but it is also low enough to be safely attainable with standard 3D printers. ABS is a hard strong plastic with some flexibility when compared to PLA. It is also soluble in Acetone, and it can be easily sanded and machined.
