Hang a Gate from a metal T-post with our Hinge Pins. Hinge Pins, Pat Pending, will hang and hold any farm or garden gate, with 5/8" or 3/4" hinge eyes, from a standard Metal T-post. Each Hinge Pin set consists of a bottom and a top hinge pin. Bottom pin slides onto T-post, tilts 45, and locks above a knob on the T-post. (See drawing ). Bottom pin comes with large washer to make for an easy swing of the gate. The top pin slides onto T-post, with pin facing down, rests under a knob of T-post, locks into position when weight of gate is applied. This position will not allow the gate to be lifted off its hinges should an animal's head get under the gate. On Garden Gate the upper pin may be placed - pin up - and rest on top of a knob on post. Pins are made, super strong, with 3/8" steel, painted, and will allow gate to swing 200+.8. Chain Link Fence LAG SCREW HINGE:This lag bolt hinge has a 5/8 inch hinge pin diameter and is 6" long. It is simple to install as you only need to drill a hole in the post and screw the lag screw hinge in. It is galvanized and so will last for years to come. You can use this style of j-hinge in wooden posts (round or square) but you can also use to fasten a gate to some wooden structures like heavy sheds, barns, outbuildings and more. You just need a strong anchor board to screw into. Typically these would be used to mount a chain link fence. This lag-screw hinge is the male side of the hinge system. A female gate frame hinge is needed when mounting a chain link fence gate, farm gate, or other style of pipe gate frame. Other styles of gates can be hung from this hinge as well, they just need a bracket mounted on them that has a 5/8" hole to receive the 5/8" pin that is on the male lag bolt hinge. Very sturdy setup. You will only need 2 per gate in most cases.
