Description

Slices 10568 scalpel is ideal for crafters, makers, and artists looking for a safer way to make detailed cuts. Many companies make ceramic blades but Slice is the only company to make a safer blade with our special finger-friendly blade edge. Our blades start at a safe and effective sharpness and stay there up to 11 times longer than metal blades. Finger friendly means they are much safer to touch and handle.

Slice scalpel handles are extra thin (4.1 mm or 0.16 inches thick) to fit in tight spaces. They feature durable reinforced nylon handles with ridged grips for precision and control. Their rectangular design prevents rolling and the installed 10518 blades rounded tip guards against accidental punctures. Blade change is simple and quick, and requires no outside tools.

The 10568 is ideal for craft and home materials such as vinyl, frisket paper, cardstock, stencils and stickers, craft felt, scratchboard art, plastic quilting template material, clamshell packaging, flexible plastics and leather. Not recommended for hard materials such as concrete or wood. Slice blades, like all craft blades, are not designed to bear a side load.

Professional artists, DIYers, makers, and hobbyists will enjoy the clean cuts and superior control offered by Slice scalpels. While this knife ships with a 10518 (straight edge, rounded tip) blade for cutting, there are many optional Slice safety blades. Note that a pointed tip may be more suitable to initiate cuts in some materials.

Optional compatible blades expand the scalpels possible uses. These include: 10519 (straight edge, pointed tip); 10520 (curved edge, rounded tip); 10532 (corner stripping); 10534, 10535 (chisels); 10536 (rounded-tip seam ripper); 10537 (pointed-tip seam ripper).
