This is a large, upright plant (6 feet tall by 4 feet wide) for the shady border or woodland garden. Its flowers cut well for use both fresh and dried. From spring through mid-summer large, 20 inch tall, fluffy plumes of tiny, creamy white to greenish white flowers float above the plant. The large, 3 foot leaves are doubly pinnate with each leaflet being medium green and doubly toothed. Aruncus (Aethusifolius Noble Spirits) - For a decorative, fern-like foliage and white flower spikes in late spring, start Aruncus seeds and enjoy this perennial for part sun. Similar to Astilbe, Aruncus is excellent for the shady landscape, and the foliage stays attractive all season long. How to Grow Goatsbeard: Aruncus seeds do best with a cold/moist stratification before sowing. Self-sown seedlings are possible, but transplanting is not a problem for this perennial.
