LOCTITE Product 272 is a single component, anaerobic threadlocking material which develops high strength and high temperature resistance. This product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces.
Prevents loosening and leakage of threaded fasteners. Typical applications include high temperature locking and sealing of studs, nuts, screws, bolts and fittings. It is best suited for applications where the temperatures range up to
Directions for use For best performance surfaces should be clean and free of grease. Product should be applied to the bolt in sufficient quantity to fill all engaged threads. This product performs best in thin bond gaps, (0.05mm). Very large thread sizes may create large gaps which will affect cure speed and strength. This product is designed to give controlled friction, (torque/tension ratio), during assembly. In critical tightening applications this ratio should be confirmed
GENERAL INFORMATION This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials. For safe handling information on this product, consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
