The Boker V-42 Devils Brigade Knife was created to honor the legendary 1st Special Service Force, in which American and Canadian soldiers were combined to form a special task force for battle behind enemy lines. The numerous nocturnal operations undertaken by this force and the camouflage they used caused this unit to be nicknamed the Black Devils by the German Wehrmacht. This knife is a replica of the specially designed V-42 combat knife given to Devils Brigade members as part of their extensive combat training. It features a corrugated thumb rest for a secure grip a curved pommel and thick leather padding under the handle, and a strong double-edged blade. The steel is SK-5 High Carbon Steel, which resists abrasions while maintaining a superior edge. About the Forged By War program
In 2013, Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, designer of elite, military, tactical tomahawks, approached CRKT with the news that he had been working with a few combat veterans that had returned from war with varying degrees of post-traumatic stress (PTS).
To help work through their challenges, they have been designing and forging steel into custom tools. Drawing from their experience earned in combat situations, they have been creating tools they wished they had available to them in the battlefield.
CRKT cares deeply about our returning veterans and we saw a way to give back to the community that created them. In 2016, we launched the Forged By War program.
These are mission ready tools, designed by veterans, with 10% of the CRKT net profits of the program donated to the veterans' charity of choice.

If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, well repair or replace the knife. This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way. This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to misuse of the knife.
